I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?
AlexisR said:I took my NCLEX two days ago. While going through the questions, there were many drugs and diseases on there that I had never heard of, and I began to realize that I was guessing on a lot of questions. Needless to say, when it shut off at 75 questions, I almost had a heart attack. I was CERTAIN I had failed. I left the testing center wondering what I had just done, and why didn't I just study harder? (And I practiced with hundreds of questions by the way....) I was so depressed over the next couple of days, crying and pretty much giving myself an ulcer (and quite a few breakouts!). When I checked my quick results after 48 hours.... I had passed!? The NCLEX was awful and if I had had to bet my life on it, I would have said that I failed. For those of you that just took it, only to come home and google "Fail NCLEX 75 questions" (as I did), I hope that my story will offer you some hope, as I DID pass!!:wink2: Alexis, RN
lol. i pretty got much the same feeling and same incident you had, i almost vomited while steppin of out the building.. the main thing is you have to keep the faith in yourself.. that's it.. i think its really impossible not to feel like failure is not at hand. everyone feels that way. rock on and good luck to other future RN!
i took the nclex-RN on July 28th 2009, Wow it was the most stressful day of my life. I had 75 questions in about 50 minutes... afterwards i came out the center crying terrible because i thought i failed. for the next 2 days i waited for my results i was so sick... headache, muscle ache the whole nine yards.. thursday i went on the website and it said my score was available, when the screen came up i close my eyes, i opened one eye to look at the results and it said pass.. i was so happy i started crying.... it was the most happiest moment of my life.. so yes you can pass with 75 questions..
i just finished my NCLEX exam... it cut off at 75... I wasn't confident with ANY of my answers. I got 4-6 SATA questions, a few pharm, 2 drug calculations and I don't remember the rest. I am freaking out... I don't see how I passed. I feel like all my preparing was a waste of time... As much studying as I did, I don't feel that it helped. I seriously hope I get some good news in 2 days...
I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to whoever created this poll... You may have prevented a panic attack and/or ulcer for this girl. It is very, very comforting to see such a high passing percentage (and low failing percentage) at 75 questions! I hope if I ever end up in a hospital, you are my nurse!! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that I passed!
Hi! I just took my nclex this afternoon (Friday) at 2pm. I was wondering when I'll be able to get the results, Sunday or Monday?? Im soo nervous right now. I feel like throwing up. I didnt get enough sleep (maybe had 3hrs of sleep the most) because of anxiety I guess. And computer shut down after 75 questions. Ive been reading the posts in this thread which made me feel a little better that maybe I did pass too. I got 3 math, maybe 6 SATA, 4 meds, mostly infection precautions and legal issues (breach of confidentiality etc), not much prioritization and maybe 1 delegation. I dont know if I passed. When I got to 72 questions I was hoping to get more questions and I felt Id rather get 265 questions than 75 because I really dont feel that I did soo well to pass it. Most of the questions though I felt were easy (but I dont think I got them right) even the meds were all familiar meds. I have a headache just thinking about this.

Hey. So i took my Nclex RN a few days ago and also got 75 questions. i remember slowly clicking the next button on the 75th question hoping that it wouldnt shut off b/c i felt like i didnt know any of the answers thus far. so i clicked and the blank screen came up ...It was OVER and i was soooo upset. anyway, as it turns out, I PASSED so don't get so nervous if you feel like u knew nothing, b/c i think that is the point. as nurses we will never be 100% sure but we know what we are doing and have gotten a great educaiton.. just hang in there until u get your results.. also, try googling the pearsonvue trick thread on this website if you want to ease your mind.
