questions about Navy/Army VA employee Program

Published

I am looking in to the VA employee program and was wondering if anyone has been down this road and has any information on how the process works or even how many seats are really available for this. I can only imagine how many people may want to do this and there can't be anywhere near that many seats. I know that there is a Navy and an Army program and I know that logistics behind how to apply but I am wondering more about inner workings of the program (from applicant/student perspective). I have a ton of questions please share your experience I am sure you will answer something that I am wondering about.

Check out the "military/ government forum" here on allnurses.com, there are many VA postings and a few on CRNA school........I think I heard there were like 5 or 6 seats for VA applicants each year in the Army CRNA program.

You should do some websearching on "military CRNA" or just "CRNA forums" and view the other sites..........

good luck,

Olderthandirt2, I have seen many of your posts and had a question for you about the ARMY CRNA program. I am currently a 2nd LT with the 629th FST and hope to apply to the Army program. Does a student go to TX alone or can family come (wife, child). Thank you

Your family can come with you. Have you checked out "the nursing anesthesia military forum" search it on the web, many useful threads on USAGPAN.

Phase 1 (didactic) is at Ft.Sam (12months), The next 1.5 yrs (clinical) is at a Phase 11 facility (Ft. Sam, Madigan, Hood, Bragg, Gorden, etc). Then you start your 4.5 yr payback...........so it is alot of moving, but well worth it.

The process is fairly lengthy, I would start earlier than later!

good luck,
