questions about long distance learning

Published

HI,

I am an Lpn, have been for 11 years, I work in LTC and I really love my job.

I have been trying to find info about clinicals in long distance learning and the success rate. I know a person who took the whole LPN to RN course, and then failed the clinicals. I am also interested in knowing how long distance learning compares financilly to traditional college. Any one out there wiht any answers? Thanks, I really look forward to talking with everyone.

Hi there and welcome to allnurses.com. i wanted to let you know that we do have an Online/Distance Education forum on this board; it's way down at the bottom under the Nursing Student Forum! There's lot's of information there.

One thing I know offhand about long distance RN programs is that they can be a lot more expensive than a local community college or university.

I took the liberty of moving your post to the Distance Learning Forum. Do a search on this forum and you will find all of the information that you will need.

The Distance Programs are usually more expensive than the traditional programs in your area.

What ever route that you decide to follow, make sure that the program is accepted by your BON for licensure as an RN before beginning any program.
