as I've relied on this forum for a good amount of info about nclex, I think it's only fair that I share my experience...First time taker. I didn't expect for it to shut off at 75 so I wasn't surprised. I was thinking maybe I'd take 160, tops. I took my first scheduled break then skipped the second one that came around at the 4 hour mark. When I got to number 215, I took a break to regroup and calm my nerves for the final 50 that I expected to receive (they say if you take all 265, it bases your score on the last 60 - not sure how accurate that is).
For feeling so unprepared before the test, I was surprisingly confident early on. They were higher level questions and I felt like I tackled them well. As I got to later questions (especially 200 on), the level was noticeably easier. By the last 20 or so, I felt like they were some elementary that there was absolutely no way I was going to pass.
I guessed A TON. Got a lot of SATA, a lot of priority patients, a lot of infection control. Got a decent amount of meds but I am terrible at meds and can't imagine i scored well on them.
Was POSITIVE i failed. Waited until the next night to do the PVT as I was too nervous - I got the "good pop up." Paid the next day for early results and found out I passed.
Just wanted to share my experience and give some of those who take the whole 265 some more encouragement that you CAN still pass.[/QUO
Outstanding. Congrats! It takes nerves of steel to finish all 265.
Good job;)
