Specializes in Med-Surg /Cardiac Step-Down/CICU/CTICU.

hello all ,

i was interested in jhh. thinking about possibly moving within a year. i currently work on a cardiac step-down for the past 2 years and before that med-surg-tele for 2 years=4 years experience in a large teaching hospital in my area. so i am used to interns, residents, fellows, attendings, and all that stuff. i was interested in ccu/cticu/cath lab area, i would like to stay in cardiology. i am currently trying to get into a icu in my hospital and work there at least 6 months to a year before moving. what is the starting salary at jhh? do you know if they will be hiring in these areas or cardiac stepdown? i wanted to know is it possible to get a permanent shift?, i think they do rotating shifts there, i have worked nights for 4 years and really would like to go to days soon. just trying to gather my info and start planning, to see where it goes.:typing

thanks for the info/help/suggestions

Hi,

Hopkins tends to pay kind of low, imo, but there are tons of great facilities in the Baltimore/DC area if you decide to move here. Good luck.

I was told the other night when I was there that they are in a hiring freeze. At least the department of surgery is.

New grads have to do either day/night rotation or all nights. I'm not sure what the policy is for new hires that aren't new grads. I would recommend contacting a recruiter directly.
