Hi all,
I'm new and this is my first post. I found this site while looking up information on the hesi a2 that LSU requires for admission for the bsn program. I noticed that the test has an a&p section yet LSU has a&p as a course for the first semester of the program. Do they not require you to take the a&p sec? If so, is it very detailed or is it more of the general knowlege questions? I am hoping to take the test in a few weeks and trying to get in for the fall semester. If anyone has any advise or knows how LSU works (because LSU sure doesnt like to answer the phone) it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis

Hi Travis!
This is my first post too. I am also taking the HESI A2 in a few days to apply to LSUHSC, and I had the same question. I am not from Louisiana so I am taking the test at a testing center near my house, and they told me on the phone I would have to choose which sections I wanted to take! I can't imagine that this is correct though, I am hoping that when I show up the sections will be already chosen and ready. However, only one person at LSU seems to be able to answer this question but I can never get a hold of him by phone either. Have you found anything out? If I reach him in the next few days I will post here.
I actually was hoping you could answer a question for me. Did you fill out the transcript request form to get your transcripts? It looks important but when I called LSU, a secretary said I didn't have to do it. I was hoping for a second opinion. Thanks!

hi Kara
Yes I did eventually get in touch with LSU and from what I understand this is how it works. The guy told me that they make you take the A&P section just to see how you do in it. He said that the other subjects are weighed much more heavily then the a and p. As far as the transcripts go, I'm not sure, I actually am just about to start filling out all my paperwork now lol. But if I get any info ill post it for you. I'm not sure about the whole picking sections ether. This is my first time taking the test but as far as LSU goes I am almost positive that they tell you which sections that you will have to take on the website. If not you might want to try to call LSU back. I called the student resource office and they directed me to someone named Glen if I remember right. Again if I find anything I will post
Good Luck on your test and admissions!!!

As far as I know you have to turn in a copy of your transcripts. I applied for Spring 2011 and I didn't get in because of the budget cut and I was still in a pre-req class. The HesiA2 wasnt too bad. Didn't have much physics, basic math, english, vocabulary and a good bit of science (like biology type questions.) I am retaking the Hesi test on Jan 10 to try and boost the grade. Good Luck to everyone!!!
Thanks for the info guys! I just finished taking the HESI and I didn't think it was too bad. I thought the hardest section was anatomy; the other sections seemed pretty basic. The weird part was that the sections were not chosen for me. I had the option to take every section, so I did. I had plenty of time though. Good luck!
congrats kara,
Im taking mine on the january tenth. what all was on the chem section? like is it just balancing equations and doing simple convertions and using the formulas or do i need to revew it more indepth then just that? Hope you did well on it and good luck with the admissions prosses.

I plan on applying to LSU nursing school for next Spring. I registered to take the Hesi, but I am signed up for the test with the critical thinking section included. Are we supposed to take this section, or did I make a mistake? I'm freaking out about this test, so I don't want to do anything to mess up my application process!
