Hi board:
I'm a new grad from Taiwan. Preparing to send my applications to the California BON. Just a quick question on the fingerprint card. You see, I'll be in Taiwan in July and August. Plan to go to California in September, and would stay in Boston as I prepare for NCLEX. So now I'm really puzzled about which address I should put on the application form. Could anybody tell me if I mail my application to the BON, how long would it take me to recieve the fingerprint card? Or should I just forget about the fingerprint card and ask for the live scan and get it done while I'm in California in Sep? Thanks!!

After having my prints taken on "the card" twice without good results and "done in about 1 minute" with a scan I'd opt for the scan. And, with the scan, you won't hvae to worry about the "extra" addresses.

how will you be getting your other mail? Can someone forward the correspondence to you? You may get other important information from the Board, so you need a mailing address of some kind. Also, the address you give will be the official one for your license. Can someone in California collect your mail from a box? Or have it go to their home? Even if you decide on fingerprints in person, I still think you need a mailing address. The purpose of the prints is to determine if you have a criminal background. I doubt they would bother to process the prints if you do not have a "permanent" mailing address.
Thanks for reminding! Yes, the address are all permanent. They belong to my realitives. So no matter which address I give to the board, I would be able to recieve all the mails.

The FBI "lost" my finger print card twice during my CA license process. My advice to you is to develop an actual person contact at the BRN to stay on top of your license process.

I got my CA license several years ago. At that time I just went down to the police department and they fingerprinted me! Felt like a criminal, but I got it done and sent it then. You might want to check with the police department?
