Questions about Cypress College ADN program

Hi everyone!

I'm a recent graduate with my BA in English and I've just decided to go back to school to become an RN. I'll be doing my pre-req's this coming fall and spring and I'm thinking of looking into the ADN program at Cypress. I was wondering if anyone attended there and can give me some insight into the acceptance process.

Can you apply for the program while you are still completing your pre-req's?

Is the program impacted, or is there a good chance of getting in on the first try?

Are there any classes other than A&P, Microbiology, and Chem that I could take to help me prepare?

and im not sure how accurate this is but im pretty sure i heard this at the nursing orientation/ meeting "23 is the least competitive score" and they tell you that you have to get as many A's as possible (anatomy,physio,micro).

Wow, been almost a year since I was on this thread..

I remember when I went to the info meeting, they told me the same thing. A 25 you're in. A 24 good chance of getting in. 23, slim chance. And everyone else, you're on the wait list. Cypress is real competitive so unless you're already great at the "sciences", you should take each one separately and focus on each A one at a time. I have every general ed finished but I need to take all 3 sciences. Right now I'm just becoming a CNA to work and get some experience while I finish those last 3 classes.

I applied to avc, cerritos , cypress and gwc...

im on the waiting list for avc ( admitted for spring'10)

and cypress ( i dont even know my waiting list status LOL)

gwc ---- im still waiting for the acceptance letter (end of may)

and i got in at cerritos :) !

Did anyone go to the info meeting at Cypress today? I couldn't get off work to go and I was wondering if there was anything new to find out?
