I have always thought I wanted to do ICU and then on to CRNA, but I have also thought about NP, so I am researching that a little further. I want to make the right decision. I liked my OB/GYN rotation in school, but I was told that if I go into OB/GYN in the military they will keep me there. Is there a demand for NP's in the military and if so what specialty areas? I looked at the Air Force web site and it mentioned women's health NP, but the paper I got from the recruiter a while back stated Peds NP (did not like my peds rotation!). I have an externship now in ICU and I like it but I am not jumping up and down ecstatically....this makes me wonder if this is really want I want to do....just trying to find my niche! Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Also, if anyone can give any insight into the nurse to patient ratios for L&D/postpartum nursing, working conditions/environment, etc., that would be great also. As stated above, just trying to look at all avenues. Thanks again!

The AF has Women's Health NPs, PNP, and FNPs. Unless I accidently forgot one that is the only type of NPs they recogonize for AD.
