as a student nurse i spent one day at the regional burn unit and loved it. im a senior and will do my preceptorship at the burn unit. seriously considering being a burn nurse. whenever i talk to nonburn nurses about burn nursing they always make faces and tell me i am brave. is there something i don't know but should. thank u:blushkiss
Actually I did part of my senior rotation on a burn unit/oncology the rest of the time. I loved it. It was either burn or hem/onc I wanted to work at and hem/onc beat the other unit to the punch.
I just graduated and will be working in the burn unit. I get the same reaction from most people when I tell them. Clearly this area is not for everyone. But what area is? If burn nursing interests you, go for it!
