Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, and new to nursing school, I just finished my first year of college. I'm just wondering how you travel from place to place. Do you find your own tickets? Do you fly economy class? Thanks in advance!

It depends on our preference and the assignment.
On assignment in Manhattan orBoston, where a car is a hindrance, I flew w/my cat in the cabin, and shipped the few things that I couldn't take on the plane. Most assignments there are better equipped (linens, kitchen utensils, etc) than some others. Even so, I usually prefer my own linens and some of my own kitchen doodads.
In Florida, where a car is needed and parking easy to come by, I drive.
Obviously some places pretty well require flying such as the Virgin Island/Hawaii.
For Continental US assignments, we are allotted a certain amount of travel monies. How one spends them is up to the nurse. For Manhattan, I could pocket over half the travel monies (after paying for el cheap ticket w/cat fee) which more than paid for any shipping needed.
