Hi all, I have to take the TEAS exam tomorrow, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's better to skip a question I don't know or should I try to guess?
I didn't know if it would affect the scoring since some tests don't count unanswered questions against the total score.
Also, do I need to bring paper and pencil or are those supplied once you get there?
Sheesh...I'm almost 40 years old and I'm a nervous wreck over this test!!
Any suggestions or personal experience about the test would be greatly appreciated, highly adored, and make you my new best friends. :bowingpur

Just Breathe! Thats good advice just befoe the TEAS exam. It's not the most difficult test...just READ each question and make sure you're understanding what its asking for. A lot of the time the words: "not" or "isn't" or "least", "most", "sum", "product"...etc will casue people to get questions wrong simply because they thought the question was asking something that it wasn't.
Also, the math portion of the test isn't terrible difficult, HOWEVER, it is timed and we were instructed that 98% of test takers aren't able to complete the ENTIRE math portion of the exam. Whatever you do, DO NOT GUESS ON QUESTIONS simply to finish any portion of the exam. If you have 3 minutes left and 10 questions unanswered, don't guess of the last 10 questions, simply finish what you can and don't worry about the unanswered questions.
When taking multiple choice exams, ALWAYS REMEMBER that you are given the answer.....you just have to either use KNOWLEGDE to get the correct answer OR a lot of the times you can REASONABLLY answer a question w/ previous knowlegde or common sense......AKA...pick the answer that sounds right, within reason of course. You'll be surprise how much you already know by using this concept.
Go into your TEAS exam tomorrow with your head held high and all the confidence you can muster up, because "you got this!" Believe in yourself, believe in your academic past and believe in your determination to become a nurse and you'll do GREAT!!!!

Congratulations on your 72%. I am worried as I only got a 69% on the online test. I am worried about the science and have been going over and over it in the book but the explanations are not real clear to me. Our college requires a 67% overall. Hope I can do better than that. I only got a 55% on the online portion of the science. That online test is not great as even if you take it again, you could have memorized the answers so it is not a good judge in my opinion. I'm just praying with God's help I will do well. I take mine on paper as I get double time so I won't find out my results for about two weeks.
