Why do you have to work as an NA until your number shows up in the system? Does it take 30 days to get a number and start working as an RN? I'm going through the NCLEX application process and I'm confused about the process between exam--results--job.

An NA on my floor passed the NCLEX, knew she passed after about 2 days and started her orientation on the floor as a nurse 2 weeks later.
