Admission Requirements (Master of Science Degree Minimum of 45 Credits)

  • Completed application
  • Baccalaureate degree with an upper division nursing major (non-nursing bachelors, see Clinical Practice Portfolio option below)*
  • Undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0.
  • Current professional Registered Nurse license
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Letter of intent/personal statement
  • Evidence of meeting all University health requirements
  • Evidence of health and RN/student nurse practitioner
  • Three credit undergraduate course in Health Assessment (Grade C or Better)
  • Three credit undergraduate course in Statistics (Grade C or Better)
  • Current curriculum vitae/resume
  • Certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS)

* Clinical Practice Portfolio Option (Master of Science Degree Minimum of 45 Credits)

Applicants to a master's program with a non-nursing bachelor's degree are eligible to submit a clinical practice portfolio to be evaluated for baccalaureate-level nursing competencies. If the portfolio does not meet academic standards, the student cannot matriculate.
