Has anyone attending the 1st semester of Sierra yet or know someone that has? I was just wondering what the work load for the first week would be like. I won a Sea World vacation package that needs to be used by November so I was wanting to try and use it Labor Day weekend...but that is right after the first week of school and I'm not sure how much work to expect to be doing that weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

I have a friend that is starting her last semester at Sierra and she did not tell me that there was a huge load that 1st week. I am starting my 1st semester at ARC and while I was looking over the syllabus it seemed the 1st day was all orientation and the 2nd day was getting into CNA Stuff. While I looked over the material for the entire 1st semester it really looked like most of it was CNA material. Of course it will be a bit harder than CNA stuff but if you have experience as a CNA then it will come much easier to you.
If you would like me to get in touch with my friend let me know and I will try to get a hold of her for more specifics.

I am a Sierra College Nursing Program graduate. I graduated in December 2007. The program is very intense and you will need to read an enormous amount of material. Your first several weeks will be at the college where you will be learning and demonstrating basic nursing skills. You will then be checked off on these skills so that you can practice in the clinical setting. I don't know what your study habits are like, but I would play it by ear and wait until you get your reading assignments. Good luck to you. Sierra College is an excellent school.
