I've read PanTravelers articles on negotiation and they are very helpful. There is one thing it did not cover. I currently have 2 offers for a city I want. One is substantially better but the other company I believe will be better to work for and is more well-respected. I'm trying to get the lower company to match the offer of the higher one and they want to know the name of the agency giving me the offer. I don't believe this is relevant. I guess I don't really see a big harm in letting them know but for some reason I feel like I am losing negotiating power that way. Am I crazy?
