Hello,
Due to the reason for my termination, I figured this was the best place to post this.
I was terminated 6 weeks ago, the reason given being "diversion of narcotics." Mind you, I did not....passed their drug test, the investigation by unemployment (in determining my eligibility benefits) came up with "no evidence of misconduct." My state is at-will, so I know I can be fired for any reason they want to fire me. I don't want to go in to any more details, unfortunately (while I think I could get some good advice here, I don't want to risk my identity).
I have a phone interview next week for a job. What I don't know what to say is in regards to my termination. They stated their reason, but they do not have proof. How many meds I pulled is a circumstantial situation. I was not shown the "proof" behind their allegation. I was not caught with anything, etc. Again, I believe there is more to all of this, but don't know how much to disclose here.
What do I say when a prospective employer asks me about this? Obviously I want to be honest, but I also know how it looks. Any words of wisdom?
