Question re: chemistry prereq at UCC

Published

I was looking at the prereq for CHE 105 (chemistry for health sciences) at UCC. It says high school chem and satisfactory grade on chem placement test.

It has been many years since high school - nursing is a career change for me. I'm thinking that even though I took HS chem, I doubt I'd pass a test now  Has anyone taken this test? Is it difficult? Anyone take HS chem but decide to go back and take chem 005 at UCC? I feel like I would be back-tracking, but I want to be prepared for the harder chem work to come

Is there a different way to do this or something I'm missing?

Thanks! :)

I took CHE 105 without having high school chemistry or any chemistry knowledge in my background and got a B+ in the class.

CHE 005 would help to prepare you for the chemistry for health sciences. But, in my opinion, CHE 005 was not necessary. If you are ok with math, then you should be fine. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

Thank you so much for the response! :)
