I have a question for you all. I am due to start a BSN program in the fall, and I am wondering how all of you felt about feeling like a novice again. I know for me, I am feeling a little nervous about this. I have always had a few mature students in my classes, so I know I won't be alone, but I guess it is that feeling of being inept and starting all over that I am feeling nervous about. Any input?

I am 40 and just started in a BSN program. If I had tried this in my 20's I would have never made it, I was too painfully shy and would have never survived check-offs. Now I have confidence and already have a heads up on the younger students when I walk into a patients room, they assume I have been a nurse for many years because I don't look as young as the 20 year olds. Life experience gives me an edge. Besides, now that my children are school age I can concentrate on myself and I am enjoying the new challenge.
