Arrive on time prepared to work. Take your breaks when you're supposed to and return from them on time. Ask questions. Listen to the answers. Don't pretend to know everything, because we know very well that you don't. Ask for help when you need it. Be responsible for your own learning. Look for opportunities to learn new skills. Ask for feedback. Give feedback! Don't make a bunch of schedule changes so that you end up bouncing between whomever is available so that you preceptor has no idea what's going on whit you when you reconnect. Recognize that doing the job for ten years is at least as valuable as your four years of school, but also that you may have things to teach your preceptor. Be friendly to your coworkers. Don't complain about things your preceptor has no control over. Enjoy your supervised time because when it's done, you're it!

Janfrn gave a very good list.

I would also add: Don't be lazy. I sometimes see preceptees sit/web surf instead of working/learning. You're not hired to play/goof off. Use this time to learn. Also, it's very important to learn to work with PCTs. They are there to help you too.
