question about the patch

It will probably continue for a bit and then stop a little sooner than usual. It may be lighter too.

Your period will continue as usual, as has been my experience with the patch.

Do you not have the information pamphlet? They are in EVERY BC package, rather its BC pills, patch, or even if you buy your own depo (some people buy there own depo and then take it with them to their doctors appt.). So just read the package if that doesn't help, does your health insurance not have a Nurse that you can call it should be a toll free number they can look things up for you. It's very simple. Hope that helps.

FYI for those people who are over 185lbs, do NOT take the Patch unless you use other protection you can get pregnant with the patch if you are over that weight since the hormones are too low to last one week.

Actually, according to my doc, the high weight limit for the patch is 198 lbs, as it also says in the information packet. She doesn't recommend being over 190 or so, but it's okay according to her, as long as you're not over the limit. The OP was asking a simple question, no need to take a harsh tone.

I wasn't being harsh, so I don't know how you got that. Remember this is the internet so the way things are phrased does not mean that anyone is being harsh. The internet can not view bodily launguage nor voice tones, so please I'm sorry if you view me as being harsh because I wasn't in no way trying to be. I'm sorry that you viewed what I said as being harsh, I was only helping her and giving her some tips.

Regarding the weight issue, I was in a group of 50 people in the Military to first ever try the patch, and people over the weight of 185lbs were getting pregnant (including me). My OB/GYN informed her boss who happens to be the Chief of OBGYN in the MILITARY. She was hearing this from other doctors in other branchs of the military so she informed the Surgeon General by way of the Military and then informed my OBGYN that they will be conducting studys on the current weight limit. So many doctors and PAs in the military WILL NOT give the patch to individuals who weigh more than 185lbs. They are STILL waiting on the results of the studies. So thats why I gave my FYI. If you may not know they sometimes test military subjects BEFORE they test civilians. So I am not saying this to scare people but just giving them a heads up

Probably referring to the "PAMPHLET??" part of your first post. Overabundance of caps and more than the usual amount of punctuation is usually regarded as shouting, or at least strong feelings on the matter, so was probably interpreted as snapping. Just shedding some light :)

Back to the OP- I am not sure, but I do agree. Read the little book thingie that should have came with the patch. If there isn't one, then call a pharmacist. They're a wealth of info!

As far as the weight issue, I was once on the patch, then I gained a lot of weight. I thought I would be ok (was to control periods at the time, not as birth control). When I started bleeding during my second week, I knew it wasn't safe anymore.
