question about obtaining licensure!?

So I live in Michigan and plan on moving out of state. I have a state in mind but I won't be sure until after I take the NCLEX. So, my question is, should I get my licensure in Michigan so (because I plan on working here for a bit before I move) and then apply for my licensure in another state? I'm not sure how this works and how long it takes. Any information would be great!

Thanks

I am doing the same. Taking NCLEX, then want to move for a job opportunity I desperately want (if I get it, of course). So, what you do is take boards in your state and then apply for licensure by endorsement in the state you want to move to and you have to pay the fee for it.

but is the endorsement just for temporary licensure or is it for the full time until renewal? and how long does it take to apply and receive the new license?

They say it can take a month, but you are fine to work, if you apply for it. It's a permanent license. You are definitely okay if you live in a compact state. I don't know about you, but I am going from compact state to compact state. But, licensure by endorsement, you are fine to work during the month it takes to get.

If you intend on working on Michigan, you need a Michigan nursing license. You need to apply for licensure in whatever state you choose when you apply for NCLEX, so if you don't know where you're moving, the only thing to do is to apply for licensure in Michigan. Once you have your license, you apply for a license by reciprocity in the 2nd state. You will, unfortunately, have to pay the fees for both states doing it this way.
