I'm planning to attend the info session in January to ask this question, but I would really like to know now if possible...
I want to get into the accelerated program and it appears that the only classroom curriculum difference between it and the regular program is that you must have already taken Intro to Sociology and Human Growth and Development.
I have 3 questions...
1. Is Human Growth and Development the same thing as Developmental Psychology? If so, I should be able to take that at my local community college and have the credit transfer in, right?
2. My English skills are really good. My TEAS practice scores on the English section are always in the high 90's and my SAT and ACT scores in that area are also very high, albeit old, since I am 40. I truly do not see the need to take an English Composition class when my English skills are already well-developed. Can I test out of this requirement?
3. Can anyone give me any input or advice about the accelerated program. My one concern is that you have 1 less semester of clinical in which to hone skills. How do they still give you all of the clinical experience you need with one less semester? Do they do this by giving you an extra clinical day per week or something?
Thanks to you all!

here is the deal. everyone that was accepted had every single class already taken, including eng composition, including micro. everyone knows it is super competitive, so everyone who applies has all pre req's finished. yes you can technically apply without having taken certain courses, but you likely would not gain entrance because everyone else would have extra points for taking all other classes.
you have to take eng comp, no way around it. you cannot test out of eng 111, that is considered a required course. you can test out of some classes with clep, but eng with composition is not one of them mercy accepts.(neither do most schools in charlotte)
yes, human growth and development is "developmental psychology" :)
all courses from local community colleges will transfer.
yes, they cram more everything into your schedule. expect to be in class 8 hours a day 4-5 days a week at first, then e expected to read and study for at least 2-4 hours a night. did i mention that they tell you not to work at all?
