Question for those in the Jeff State/St Vincents Night Program?

I have read several post on here about how disorganized it is and that you have to teach yourself. Has the program got any better? Also, what does your schedule look like? I have all of my prereq's done so all I lack is the nursing classes. How do they schedule the clinicals?

I am having a tough time deciding what is the best option for me. I currently have a great job that I can study at. I have WONDERFUL benefits that I just don't want to lose. That being said, If I have to I will. I just don't want to enroll in a program and then it end up being HORRIBLE.

Any input is appreciated?

I was in this program and decided to go to UAB after 2 semesters because of the disorganization. I have heard this semester has been better since they are at Shelby now. Good luck to you!!

FYI, I have several books and a uniform if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the info. So, does anything transfer or do you just have to forfeit the nursing classes you took?

The nursing courses do not transfer. I just did 2 semesters at Jeff St though so I didn't waste too much time. Good luck to you in the program. If you are tough, patient, and can learn independantly, you will be fine. I think I was shorted on the 'patient' part and decided the drama was too much! :wink2:

What was the schedule like the 2 semesters you went? Like how often did they do clinicals?

Sorry that I am attacking you with questions. I just want to know all that I can.

The first semester was 2 nights a week- no clinical. The second semester was supposed to be 2 nights per week and one clinical per week for 6 weeks. Due to the drama, class ended up being sometimes 3 or 4 nights per week....and we were told numerous times to 'be flexible'. You really can't depend on them to stick to their published schedule.

Hey, What did you decide? I am in the night nursing program. It is a total disgrace. The Nur 104 class got so angry with the teacher they chased her down the hall into her office, screaming at her for NOT teaching them. It is a teach yourself program. This same teacher gave me an incorrect answer blank for test, I used it, ended up with wrong answers on my test. NO ONE will help me !!!!!!! :no:
