HI!
Just had a question about the hiring process, When you get hired, do you tell/ask what dept. you want to work in or do they just tell you? or do you bounce around from dept 2 dept (if your not specialized)

I doubt the hospital would let an lpn shadow a crna "on the clock". It's not a position they're looking to hire you for, so I would suggest discussing areas where you are interested in working at your current level.
If he was in school for this position, more likely it could happen. I doubt he would be able to actually go into surgery, but may be be allowed to shadow preoperatively or postoperatively. Who knows? If he wasn't actually already in the field of nursing, I doubt it would happen.

may depend on the facility - how big they are and how many position are available for your level of experience. If you have a preference there is no harm in inquiry.
