Question about emailing nurse managers

Published

Hi!

I recently applied to a new grad program, at the hospital where I did my clinical rotation at and also where I volunteer. I handed my portfolios in person to the nursing managers and was commended by one of them for bringing it in. She also gave me her card and told me to keep in touch. However I checked my app status today and it said other candidates are competitive, but I believe it's because my application didnt get past ATS. Should I follow up with the nurse manager anyway? I handed my portfolio in on Monday and the status changed was today (Wednesday). When should I email her? What should I say? TIA

Was their an online application process? Most hospitals require you to apply online and go through HR. If you only handed them out to the managers, that might be the issue.
