Question about ECG....

Can a QRS complex be completely inverted in a First degree AV block?

I'm working on my rhythm strip and I do believe I have an AV block, but my QRS' are completely inverted....

Thanks everyone!

An av-block has nothing to do with whether or not qrs is inverted...so yes, qrs can be inverted and still have an av-block. If you're concerned because qrs is inverted, bear in mind that qrs 'should' have a negative deflection in certain leads (in 12-lead). So...before you worry about inverted bundle, consider it's 'lead'...and then look at tele-pad placement...if they're way out of place it could give you strange looks.

So...if leads are placed right, and you're looking at a lead II (for instance...where bundle should be positive), and still have a negative deflection, it's probably because of significant q-wave/scar...but first guess would be lead placement screw up...

Yea! Thx... I was wondering and all the websites and my text only showed the QRS to be upright.

Thanks again!
