question to those that have Dansko's patent leather

As much as I love my skechers (and I do) They're not practical for my new job and the potential messes that seem more common on this unit.

So tonight I caved and bought a pair of Dansko's professionals in the patent leather croc style. They're adorable, they felt pretty good. I have a high arch. The heel slips but not in a bad rubbing way if that makes sense. The smaller ones would have never worked, my toes felt too crushed. So hopefully they'll work out.

My question is cleaning them. I read where someone said they used chlorahexidine wipes and it didn't harm them, but we only have clorox wipes and the moisturized wipes for hygiene. I'd imagine clorox wipes would ruin them no? Or can they handle that? What do you all use to wipe them down? In particular I'm looking for something that would kill C diff hopefully.

I'm nervous I'm going to really miss my skechers, but there's no way to keep them really clean so I had to make the choice, but wow the skeches felt like bouncing on spongy clouds all shift, zero pain working 2 twelves and 2 eights straight in a row! I hope Dansko's can keep up!

One more question! Can you run in them if need be? I've had to run before and in my skechers even with the rocker bottom I could still run in them.

I've actually rolled my ankle bad a couple years ago in my bare feet! (funny story) anyway, since then I've not had any problems and I wear all sorts of higher shoes including platform wooden types, wedges and espadrilles. Sometimes I'm a bigger klutz the flatter the shoe. Anyway I'd like to know I can run in them if I had to. I took my ankle a good year to heal and I'd not be happy to re-injure it.

Oh and btw the style is tiger's eye, not croc...in case anyone has that one it may be helpful since I heard different styles fit and work differently.

Be sure you break them in at home before you wear them for a long period of time!!! This is crucial with Danskos.

Sorry, I don't know anything about cleaning them. I have to wear white ones for my school.

i love my danskos, and have never had to break a pair in. they're comfortable from the get go and the steel arch supports are fabulous! as far as cleaning goes -- check out the dansko website. they have (or at least used to have) directions for cleaning each one of their various finishes.
