Question for current or past Excelsior College students

does anyone know if we took a child abuse course or not? i do not remember taking one, and i know i need it for the ny state boards. i took one at past school, but not sure if that's even in my transcript? i tried emailing excelsior but have not heard anything yet hoping to get a quicker response on here thanks in advance

It was included somewhere because it is mandated from all NYS nursing schools:

Since September 1, 1990, programs registered by NYS that lead to licensure or certification in one of the above areas affected by the legislation have been required to include training in the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment. Students graduating from such programs on or after September 1, 1990 are not required to take additional training and are not required to receive a Certification form and submit documentation.

I think there might have been a module that you sign off on in preparation for the CPNE. If you are really worried about it, call EC and ask, or just go ahead and take the course. Many CEU companies offer state-specific courses such as this.

Excelsior just responded to my message today. We did in fact take the course, so on the state board app. we just check the first box. Thanks :)
