Can the BSN program be extensed to more than 4 years?

I'm pretty sure you can take more than 4 years. However, every college is different. For instance, a university where I live you have to finish within 6 years of starting the program. You just have to check and see according to the school you choose.

Probably, within a reasonable amount of time.

Most Bachelor's degrees do not have to be completed in 4 years. Your first two years of a Bachelor's program are usually spent completing pre-req's and very general courses like Bio. 101, Chem. 101, Speech, Humanities, etc. If you were thinking about it, you could probably take your good old time finishing those. However, if you were starting your actual nursing/clinicals in your last two years you may only have 2-3 years to complete all those courses.

I believe it has to do with accredidation that students must complete their actual clinical time in a set amt. of years.

An extra 1-2 years to finish prerequisites and upper nursing classes will be alots of help. The school's catalog has a chart to tell the minimum annual hours required to insure satisfactory academic progress. In the nursing requirements, it did not tell requirements for finishing the upper nursing courses.

The two year colleges (asn) are fast pace. The BSN programs seems to be more flexable and not as many class hours.
