Question about background check

Hey everyone, I'm new here and just applied to a LPN program. I have all my requirements done except one which I am working on right now (chemistry class). Anyway, everything was going well until yesterday when the college sent a letter saying they needed additional information on an incident where I got disorderly conduct for fighting with my boyfriend when I was 19. I'm 22 now....so now I am kicking myself in the butt thinking of how this could ruin everything!!!! I did take a CNA class and worked as a CNA, and never had a problem with those background checks....are they more strict when it comes to LPN? I know every school is different, etc, but in general do you think they will deny me admission! I have such a sinking feeling right now! I have no other convictions or anything. Thanks for listening! :)

Probably they just want enough detail that they can assure themselves that you are not a violent person, and that you are not violently impulsive, especially. My suggestion would be to be as honest as you can without offering any info that they are not asking for. You don't need to open any doors for doubt, but you also don't want to spend your career looking over your shoulder. There are usually other ways of finding out that kind of info. It's better coming from you. Good luck!
