Queensborough (QCC) Nursing Program Fall 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Good Afternoon!

I just wanted to start this thread for anyone applying to QCC’s Fall 2022 Day or Evening Program. Applications open in less than two weeks!
Does anyone have any advice, or does anyone know any students who are currently in the program or graduated?
Is anyone also interested in their Dual Program that helps you complete your BSN at Hunter, York, or SPS?

I honestly didn't have a hard time with Micro. It could be because it was my only class (I made sure I only had that class for that semester). Plus I had an awesome teacher (not sure if I can share her name). I did apply for the evening and I took a look at what the schedule would look like. I pray we all make it in Im super excited to start this process.

OMG I'm glad to hear that! I've been looking for the sample schedule for Evening ?? can you fill me in?

Early this week I went into quny first and was able to see what the evening classes would look like. Monday and Tuesday clinical 530-1030pm (in-person). Wednesday and Thursday lecture 6-9 pm (hybrid). FYI I had it written down and can't seem to find it, so I may be off. I went into cuny first to double-check before posting and the site is under maintence so no access.

Yes they sent them out around 4pm today! But I read from previous cohorts that in the case you didn’t get one right away doesnt meant you won’t at all.

I was accepted I’m so happy ?

Hi all!

I am currently a student at QCC, and I will say, getting into the program is easy - staying in the program is hard. It is very disorganized and you have to put in alot of the work yourself. Make sure you ask how many students end up repeating their 102 and 201 class. They will brag about their passing rate however, they will not tell you those students who pass are paying for alot of resources outside of qcc such as simplenursing, nursing.com, UWorld etc. just to pass their exams.

Unfortunately, I would say it’s the same all across CUNY. I transferred in from Hunter College and it is the worst. Although the college itself is alright, the program sucks. The NCLEX rates are also notoriously low

Oh wow! Thank you both for sharing your input! I heard that across CUNY as well and even my friend from LIU said the same thing about her program. I've watched videos of current nursing students on YT and they said they automatically paid for resources to supplement their learning.

My general synopsis is that nursing school is going to kick ***, which I expected.

Yeah of course no worries! I love learning from other people and their experiences. I find QCC to be more active on allnurses than Hunter and I find it so admirable - congrats on completing nursing school, that is absolutely amazing!

I’m actually taking anatomy and physiology 1 right now. If you have any tips on how to do well, I’d love to know!
