Hi everyone! I applied for the 2022 ABSN program at Queens University of Charlotte last month. Has anyone else applied?

I had my prerequisites completed prior to applying as well. It may have more to do with GPA. When I had spoke to an admissions counselor last year, she said that GPA from your prerequisites and last 30 credit hours weighed the heaviest on their decision.

For those that got accepted, would you mind sharing the deadline you have to respond by?

March 4th or our offer will be forfeited.
For those that have been accepted, have you received any award information or costs of attending? I filled out the FAFSA when I completed my application.

HI! I'm currently in the ABSN program at Queens. I can speak to how my program was, but they have/will change some things for the cohort starting in May2022.
My program was June 2021-May 2022. Summer was 19 credits, Fall 21 credits, Spring 18 credits. We had one clinical rotation in the Summer, two in the fall, two in the Spring. All clinicals were in the hospital except your community-health clinical. I know they are allegedly changing the layout for two of the fall classes to make it better. You don't start clinicals the first week. I paid approx $800 per credit, $500/semester ABSN program fee (which is supposed to pay for clinical stuff) with a couple extra fees like background check, mandatory study material, scrubs, etc..
Thats how the program is structured but if you want my opinion of the program that's a different thing. ?

Hi @LivRN2022
Yes! please. If you can share more information that will be great. How do you like the program? What do you mean about future changes to make it better?
I can also share some general thoughts on here!
- if you get into multiple nursing schools ask HC workers in youre desired zip code who they prefer to hire from. I know a physican in the 919 who only hires nurses from ECU, I've heard hospital managers & workers in the 704 say they prefer nurses from the community college. People working in healthcare (not education) will tell you the truth.
-Every university is going to say they have an 'excellent' nursing program. An educational institution won't! Nobody is going to advertize their worst traits. The admissions office and admin are supposed to sell you on their university. Considering universities is a sales pitch.
-Tuition cost doesnt equal worth! Just because you go to a small private school, or a big school with a big name, it doesn't always equate to a good education. Look at the professors and their resumes, their experience, expertise, research, etc.. You want to learn from someone who knows what they're talking about. I had EXPERT professors when I went to community college, and then total DUDS when I went to a small expensive private 4 year university.
-At the end of the day, consider your lifestyle, budget, experience, and standards. My friend doing her associates in nursing over 2 years at a community college will 100% be a better nurse than me because she has better professors & standards at her community college than my school (not all schools tho!). I turned down good quality education at a low cost for an expensive fast poor quality education because I wanted to finish in a year.
DM me for my authentic opinion on Queens University of Charlotte specifically. I don't wanna get sued for libel. ?

I would love to have more of a private chat where you feel comfortable being honest. I’m Travioli1 on Instagram l. Hit me up there.
I went ahead and followed you a few hours ago! Thanks for the help!

I also got waitlisted! Did not know until today. I am wondering if the waitlist is ranked or if its first come first serve.
If anyone knows about how the waitlist works please comment! I accepted the waitlist on the last day. Are we considered by rank or first come first serve for waitlist acceptence???
