Hello all. I am graduating May '10 (BSN) and (God-willing) am trying to get an ICU position as a new grad. Currently, I work as a PCA at Atlanta Medical Center and have made some great contacts there. Does anyone have any information about AMC's ICU compared with Grady's ICU? Would anyone recommend starting as a new grad at Grady? I am interesed in Grady because I know the training would be excellent and it may turn out to be a resume booster later on. (Correct me on that if I am wrong :) ) And if not Grady or AMC's ICU's, what other Atlanta ICU's would you recommend? Thanks! :yeah:

If you're thinking CRNA, I've heard that a lot of people get picked up from St. Joe's and Emory ICUs....

Interesting. Thanks for the tip.

I guess my thought process was since Grady is a level 1 Trauma that would hold heavy weight with the kind of experience you're exposed to. But I can see where Emory and St. Joe's name can hold weight too. Thanks!

Oh, well I've heard that a lot go from Grady too. Just wanted to mention the other hospitals. Like you, I've heard that experience at Grady is like no other. I'm sure Atlanta Med would be similar to Grady in terms of patients.
