Pueblo (Colorado) Community College Applicants?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello! I applied to Pueblo CC for the fall nursing program. Just trying to reach out to some other applicants that might be feeling as anxious as me waiting for that letter!

Plus I can't find anything on people that have attended Pueblo CC nursing. Does anyone know how many people apply? Or any info?

Good luck to everyone! :)

I just applied at CSUP the other week and I'm waiting for my leyter ! I'm considering applying at PCC as well as I feel like I should apply to more than one school! Good luck with your application! :)

The PCC application period is only from Feb to March 1st I think they only have a fall program. But Pikes Peak CC is open until May 22 if you wanted to apply there too. Good luck to you too!

I applied to Pueblo also. Very anxious!

If you don't mind me asking what was your GPA? Do you know how many people apply? I hope they let us know next week!

My GPA is 3.68. When I went in for advising a couple of years ago, I was told that they get about 100 to 150 applications. I actually applied for the FALL 2014 and was accepted. I believe they accepted about 30 individuals, myself included. I received my acceptance letter through the mail on May 24 2014. I dropped below the required 77% for Pharmacology so I dropped the course because I feared I would not be able to bring that up with just 2 tests remaining. I passed Fundamentals of Nursing but when you drop a nursing course the first year, it kicks you out of the program and you have to apply again. So here I am, back to square one. I do know that they accept people based on "points" each "A" you have for the required classes you get more points, "B" you get points, "C" you get a point, and "D" and "F" I don't think you receive any points for. They also give you points if you have applied in the previous years and if you have health related work experience. I really believe we will find out within this coming week. Have you been keeping up with the emails the Nursing department is sending out?

Oh wow I can't imagine your frustration but kudos for not giving up! We have about the same gpa and I have some medical experience so I hope it's enough. I have applied to three other programs the past year and a half and haven't been accepted but they had 300-400 applicants and only looked at GPA and TEAS.(I'm currently in fort worth Texas but from CO) Yeah I saw that email today about turning in courses so sounds like they are going to be deciding soon.

I

Yeah, though it's a frustrating situation, I'm definitely not giving up. Wow, that is a lot of applicants. I am glad there wasn't an entrance exam for PCC and that they consider all required classes as points. It does sound like they will be selecting soon. I have my fingers crossed! The wait is killing me lol.

Yeah I feel the same about getting rejected so many times lol it's hard so to stay positive sometimes! They are the only program that doesn't require the exam that I have seen, total relief. I have taken the teas which was hell and the hesi I got like an 87 but still wasn't good enough I guess!

Getting rejected would be really frustrating. But glad to see that you aren't giving up, no matter how hard it is to stay positive. I think applying to a smaller program, such as PCC is good. I hope we both get accepted. Have you taken classes at PCC before?

I hope we do too! I haven't taken any classes there. I got my Associate of Arts through Pikes Peak Community College though and all my family is in Colorado Springs. We are stationed here in Ft. Worth but there are only so many schools near by and its just impossibly competitive. So me and my daughter would be moving back to CO if I got in. Have you taken classes there? I have seen only good things. I applied to PPCC but I didn't make the cut.

Oh okay, that's really cool. I could imagine the schools there being much larger and far more competitive. I have taken classes at PCC, both online and physically at the school, it's a great school. The nursing department instructors are awesome and provide great guidance. The school has a simulation lab at one of the local hospitals. It's really cool. Did you apply to PPCC for the FALL 2015 semester? What is their acceptance based on?
