Hi,
I'm looking at emigrating to canada with my husband and would just like a bit of advice. I am currently studying for my post-graduate masters qualification to make me a School nurse in the UK. However, my previous role is a qualified midwife not nurse. I'm unsure if this will make my application for public health/school nursing jobs valid as most ask for a nursing qualification. Has anybody got any experience of this?
Thanks

Yes to work as a nurse you would need a Canadian nursing license. Canadian nurses are generalist trained. You need theory and clinical hours in adult, peds, OB and mental health nursing. Starting point would be applying to the NNAS. Do you have a province in mind? I am in Ontario and our public schools generally don't have nurses.
