I am going through the application process at the Ptec Clearwater campus for the August 2011 start date. Does anyone know about how many people are admitted? What were some of your scores if you have been previously admitted? Any advice would be helpful! :)
I did have to take both the TABE and the TEAS. THe TABE was so easy, honestly if you are unable to pass that this program is too hard for you. So far we have competed all the CNA part! The fitst part was not hard at all, you need to maintain an average of 80% throughout the entire course. So far nobody in our class has failed out at all. We have had 3 people leave, but not because of grades. Right now I think we have about 22 students in our class. We are currently learning three seperate things at once, Muscle System, Nutrition, and Nursing Process. You do not learn one subject at a time, so you have to be able to multi-task and be very organized so that you don't fall behind or miss anything. Also attendence is very important, it is not like a regular college class, you MUST go to school. You are only allowed to miss a certain number of HOURS...not days. Meaning that if you are late every day it could add up to that 13 hours or w/e it is that you can miss. If you miss more than that you are put on probation, if you are put on probation again the rest of the entire program you are out. There are no excused absences. The same for the grades. For every different section if your average is below an 80% you are out.
Do you have any more specific questions?
