pt to per diem question about pto time

Does anyone know what usually happens with any acrued pto time if you change status? I am changing from pt to per diem but also had worked as ft in the past. So i have quite a few vacation hours that have banked over about a year and a half. I changed to per diem a few weeks back and now admin is telling me that my next pay check will have my pto hours cashed out on it, however only at 50 cents to the dollar. Does this sound right to anyone else? This is a fairly newer hospital and has had some issues with our HR and pay roll in the past. any input would help:confused:

When I changed status, they paid me for 100% of the vacation time I had accrued. I don't think it's fair that they only give you 50 cents on the dollar. You might as well have used all your vacation time before changing status in that case. It's probably too late now for that, or maybe they would let you do that (or cash out at 100%) but then you'd have to wait a certain time period before changing status.

I just recently changed status from FT to per diem. Our PTO was frontloaded IF you purchased it to be paid for in payroll deductions. Otherwise, it was accrued. If it was completely paid for, then we got paid 100% on the dollar. If not, then it was prorated. Mine was prorated.
