Has anyone taken the psychiatric nursing certification exam? I am going to take it in August. I am studying the ANCC book and have practiced those questions. I also am taking an on-line learning module from ANCC. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the material. I'm also looking for a place to find additional practice questions. Does anyone have any ideas?
I am planning to take ANCC board certification for MS and Gerontology. I would like to ask those that have completed any of the certifications, how did this help you in job prospecting? Is being board certified an advantage when applying for jobs?
I am an experienced RN but finding it hard to get hospital job, I am currently working as Home health nurse.
Great information here. I am planning on taking my exam in the next few months. I just joined the APNA so that I can do my CEU's. They have quite a few free ones. I have been a psych nurse for approximately 15 years and a nurse for 25 years. Luckily my employer will pay for the test and ceus. I doubt I will get any increase in pay or such though. I am mainly doing this for myself. I have purchased this book:
