Psychiatric Nursing Certification

Has anyone taken the psychiatric nursing certification exam? I am going to take it in August. I am studying the ANCC book and have practiced those questions. I also am taking an on-line learning module from ANCC. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the material. I'm also looking for a place to find additional practice questions. Does anyone have any ideas?

Here are some things that may help with test preparation.

I haven't used these, so I can't personally vouch for them, but this may be a starting point for you. Good luck.

I am planning to take ANCC board certification for MS and Gerontology. I would like to ask those that have completed any of the certifications, how did this help you in job prospecting? Is being board certified an advantage when applying for jobs?

I am an experienced RN but finding it hard to get hospital job, I am currently working as Home health nurse.

Great information here. I am planning on taking my exam in the next few months. I just joined the APNA so that I can do my CEU's. They have quite a few free ones. I have been a psych nurse for approximately 15 years and a nurse for 25 years. Luckily my employer will pay for the test and ceus. I doubt I will get any increase in pay or such though. I am mainly doing this for myself. I have purchased this book:

Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Review and Resource Manual, 5th Edition: 9781935213642: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com

Also just purchased this due to a comment on this thread:

Psychiatric Nursing - PMHN Certification Review (Certification in Psychiatric Nursing Book 1) - Kindle edition by Myra Richards, Christy Morris, Rosemary Hale, Leticia Bates. Professional & Technical Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Looking forward to taking the exam!

For the people that have already passed the exam, would you mind saying if your license reflects the certification?? Looking to take it in the next 4-6 months!!
