I have made many phone calls and done many online searches and can't seem to get a clear answer.
I am currently going for my psychiatric nursing diploma. I live in BC Canada and may be relocating to Texas. Is my education going to be worth anything there for employment opportunities?

That depends on what your education includes. The US educates and licenses all RNs as generalists. In order to be eligible for licensure in any US state, your school transcripts will have to include didactic (classroom) and supervised clinical education in adult med-surg, obstetrics, peds, and psychiatric nursing (however many hours the state requires).
Welcome to allnurses, and best wishes!
The education is pretty specific to psych based nursing. There is clinical hospital experience in the program but I won't be going for my RN, I'll be graduating as a psychiatric nurse.

Psychiatric nurse/RPN is not recognized in the US like it is in western Canada and UJ.
