Psyche nurse to home health ??

Published

Hello nurses,

i have a silly question to ask. I have been a psyche nurse for the past 5 years, and this job has started to wear on me. I started my career as a cardiac nurse and worked in that field for 2 years. I really enjoyed what i did, however i always wanted to try my hand at psyche nursing so i took the plunge 5 years ago. I don't regret my decision, as i have gained a great understanding of psyche and have a deep respect for all that work in that capacity. However, as mentioned above, i'm ready for a change. On to the question: Am i too late to go back to regular nursing? I really want to do home health, but i'm concerned that i've spent to long working in psyche, and i won't be able to make the transition. I feel that i will relearn quick, but at the same time don't want to be a burden. I really want to change, what are your thoughts?? Ready.....go!
