Psych nurse pay-?

I am a new grad curious about psych nursing. Do you find psych nursing pay to be equal to general hospital pay?

Hi, at my hospital in NY all nurses get equal start salary. It increases with experience, BSN, etc. but psych nurses get the same as others.

I work in the public sector so the pay is a bit lower but the benefits were much much better. In Wisconsin they recently bagged the unions so now my pay will suck (no raises unless cost of living goes up), and I'll pay much much more for my health insurance.

In California, for "for profit" acute in-patient psychiatric it is generally about $8 to $10 an hour less, or so has been my experience.
