I've been a psych nurse for a decade, and outpatient doing supportive psychotherapy x 7 yrs. However, I'm starting a new job in January going back into medical nursing in Corrections.

I know I've lost some of my old nursing school basic skills and wonder if any of you know of any decent (preferably free) online refresher courses or websites that could help me get back to speed on stuff I'll need?

Hi there, Im just getting back to nursing after graduating nursing school years ago so I'm refreshing my skills by using YouTube. There are a ton of skills videos you can watch. I'm a visual and independent learner and these videos are saving me right now. So here's one to get you started...

My suggestion would be to study relearn the basics: buy on amazon or ebay a used (cheaper) set of: Medsurg nursing books and fundamentals nursing book and pharmacology and health assessment. My medical surgical books were by Brunner and sudarth, don’t use your old books if it’s been more than 5-10 yrs stuff will have changed greatly. Use NCLEX apps testing questions to find your weak areas. I’m relearning basic too. Best of luck!
