psych np salary ranges

hi all! i am so glad to have found this site, i have been browsing and love all the info. i graduated with my psych np last year and have taken a prolonged maternity leave and am now ready for a job. i have an offer in the works and am finding it very difficult to find salary ranges. i have contacted schoolmates from my grad program and it seems they started (last year) at $69-80,000. kind of a large range but it may be our area and also many of these are state workers at a state hospital. when this was mentioned to someone in personnell (informally) she kind of frowned like this was low? i am so lost and need some guidance. i live in mississippi, so its not like there are many of us, also not necessarily a huge demand for us at this point. any ideas are appreciated!

Did you get a job? I'm so interested in what came of your situation. I'm an architect going for AND starting in the Spring. The ultimate goal is psych np. I also live in Mississippi. Let ne know about your salary. I'd love to know!
