How much of your time is spend in medication management and how much do you spend in doing therapy?

It depends on where you're working. When working in the clinic, I spend pretty much all of my time doing med management and throw in some suggestions as time allows. The clinic has LCSWs who do the therapy. In private practice, I spend about 75%-80% of my time doing therapy. Some patients I see for meds only (they have another therapist who has referred them to me), some for therapy only (don't want or need meds), and most of my patients receive both med management and tx from me.

I work in a private outpatient setting. It's about 50/50 for me - alot of new pt. intakes too. I also insist if a new pt. is rerferred to me specifically, I do the therapy and meds. My employer'd like me to do ONLY MEDS but I love therapy and feel most comfortable doing meds with pts. I know from being their therapist and pts. seem to prefer it.
