Hello Psych nurses, please what are the psych nurses you all work or worked in and what did you enjoyed doing? What were the most dangerous jobs, the less dangerous jobs and what were the pay like in each field, area/city/state and how did you like it ?

Any one own a private practice? Or working for a private practice owner?

Hello Psych nurses, please what are the psych nurses you all work or worked in and what did you enjoyed doing?

In Psychiatric Nursing, I started out as an LPN primarily being the medication Nurse. As an RN, I've worked in community hospitals and clinics as a Staff Nurse, Case Manager, set up and ran sample and Patient assistance medication programs, worked as a mandated follow up agent, a pre-admission screening agent, lecturer for court ordered clients, and multiple other duties. I've been the Nurse on an ACT team and, while a Nursing Supervisor in Home Health, set up and ran an at home mental health program.

In any position, I always enjoy witnessing, and being a part of, Patients reaching an optimal level of functioning.

What were the most dangerous jobs, the less dangerous jobs and what were the pay like in each field, area/city/state and how did you like it ?

The most dangerous job was as a Community Nurse for the ACT program because of rough Patients and areas. While working in that position, I was stabbed in the back with a pair of scissors by a Patient dx with Undifferentiated Schizophrenia.

The least dangerous was as a Nursing Supervisor in home health and community clinic.

The best pay is at state and community hospitals. I made less pay working in community clinics.

Thanks so much for your input Daves :) Im into detox clinic right now which not really psych I know Im looking into mental health Home care
