pa state nurses conducts survey on: licensure by endorsement for nurses from puerto rico

there is a real issue brewing in pennsylvania stimulated by the introduction of house bills 40 and 47 by representative thomas from philadelphia. currently nurses educated in puerto rico are not offered reciprocity to practice nursing in pa and are required to pass the rn/lpn nclex in order to practice. in philadelphia there is a shortage of nurses as well as a large hispanic population thus there is an increasing movement to allow nurses educated in puerto rico that passed the puerto rico board of nursing registered nurse licensure examination to practice as rn's in pennsylvania.
