Hope some form this program stops by to answer your questions. Texas education standards requires Texas History course.
I was provisionally accepted earlier this year, and UTA did not finish reviewing my transcripts until sometime during the last half of NURS 3645 (intro course). Once I completed that intro nursing course I was granted full acceptance. What makes you think you need to take Texas history? I think you may need to take Texas government, but I think the history requirement is 6 hours of American History.
This is what worries me. I saw a degree plan that included specific classes, not 6 credits in this area, 6 credits in that area, etc. I have tons of humanities credits but I'm not sure they will transfer. I have history credits but I don't know if they will Transfer. I have writing credits but I don't know if they will transfer. I have a Bachelors degree in another discipline. I am worried that because I did not take the specific classes in the published degree plan, I'm going to end up having to take a bunch of extra credits at UTA, what I consider filler credits. I'm willing to take Texas government even though I don't live in Texas because I find it kind of fascinating. I don't feel the need to take American history. I live that every day. I took European history in my earlier degree because I wanted to be a more rounded person.
I don't want to take a ton of classes on top of the nursing classes to get my degree. A few, yes, but not a ton. I'm starting to think I should have a second choice school waiting in the wings.

I've been provisionally accepted to UTA's RN-BSN program. I have requested final transcripts from all other course work and degrees. They haven't evaluated my previous coursework yet, so I am not certain what classes I will be required to take. I registered for NURS 3645 for next term because it is one of the classes that students are allowed to take before final review of credits. I have questions about everything else and I keep being told "We have to review your credits first." I was hoping that current or past students could answer some of them for me.
Can I double up statistics or US history with NURS 3645? Does every student have to take Texas history? Would a history class on a slightly different topic count? If I used to be a professional technical writer are they still going to make me take technical writing? Are there any pre-reqs that can be dispatched with CLEP?
