Provincial and Territorial Regulatory Bodies

Published

Good day to everyone. :)

I am a Filipino nurse and I hope you could help me with my dilemma with regards to which provincial regulatory bodies should i apply to. My parents are in Surrey, and hopefully my application for permanent residency will be approved this year. But the problem is, since i got my license here in the Philippines last year, I haven't found any work. So i really do not have any working experience.

Can someone enlighten me which provincial and territorial regulatory bodies in Canada that does not require the applicants to complete the 1,000+ hours of working experience? Is it still possible for me to be registered in BC even without working experience?

Thank you very much in advance.

i think you're not reading the section in the registration information correctly.

to be eligible to apply for registration in british columbia, you must have:

  • [color=#333333]completed a nursing education program deemed equivalent to nursing education programs in british columbia
  • [color=#333333]provided proof of competence to practice as a nurse such as nursing education, practice hours in the previous five years, employment references and registration examination results, completion of a substantially equivalent competence assessment and upgrading
  • [color=#333333]have no outstanding criminal charges or convictions relevant to the practice of nursing or membership in the association
  • [color=#333333]have registration in good standing from other jurisdictions, no health problems that impair ability to practice and be fluent in english.

[color=#333333]please note: english language fluency must be demonstrated at the time of application for registration.

if there was a requirement for 1000+ hours of nursing experience for everyone, how in the world would new graduates ever get a license?? they would not meet the practice requirements for the preceding 5 years, now would they?

i would also guess that you haven't read any of the dozens of similar threads here that contain copious information and answer this question very clearly. start with these
