Nurses Job Hunt

Has anyone else applied to the fellowship program for experienced RNs at Providence St. Joseph? I know there's a thread for the TIP program for new grads, but wanted to start one for the fellowship program.

Hi! I'm currently in the fellowship program for st Joe's. I started in January. I hope all of you hear from them soon with good news! ?

The moral support is definitely important to have. I wouldn't have gotten through nursing school without my clinical teammates. I noticed that you have a background as a Psy and Med-Surg nurse. I've worked in counseling prior to becoming an RN & also started out in Med-Surg/Tele although I chose & completed my Senior year's clinical rotation in L&D.

Is the education that you are receiving L&D-specific? How does it compare to the L&D curriculum in Nursing school?

What is the average age of your cohort?

Have another good week!

Hi,

I'm sorry for the late reply. Yes the class portion does focus on mostly specific women's health and newborn information. Also includes some general info. It's nothing like nursing school...you will learn mostly from your floor orientation but the class does a great job reinforcing some info. I'm not sure about the average age. I'm thinking maybe mid to late 20s??

Hi Marian & PsyRN!

I initially expressed interest in PACU but received words from the recruiter that they only had ICU & Cath Lab.  I hope good news is coming your way Marian!

Thank you PsyRN for sharing valuable insights about your experience with the Fellowship program. Wishing you continued enjoyment and success in L&D!

Hi can anyone who is currently at St Joseph / St Jude tell me about the EKG / med and calculations exam?

I am having so much anxiety over it!

just had a newborn baby and I could really use a refresher
